Around Every Corner ©1999 The Away Team

She drags herself into another dawn

And wonders why she's livin' why she must go on..

Her shoes are Holy like the City Bus

and she sits in its pews and confesses to us.

Mostly we stumble, sometimes we fall

short of our dreams as we're nearin' it all, but

Around every corner, another street sign

Tellin' me to listen, to wake up my mind

Around every corner, another street sign

I think of you often I keep you in mind..

The priest gets on and he paid his fare

and he crosses himself as he whispers a prayer

To the girl in the front, but she's not really there

and the bus driver too, does anybody care?

Mostly we stumble, sometimes we fall

Does life really start at the end of it all, but

Around every corner, another street sign

Tellin' me to listen, to wake up my mind

Around every corner, another street sign

I think of you often, I keep you in mind...

...I'll be with you in your dreams tonite

We're walkin' through the liquid light......

Then came the woman who would not sit down and

she crossed all the people with the Book she had found

Missed her connection to the human race.

I think she's an alien from outer space. . .

Revelations all around us,

Well we paid our fare to get on this bus

Revelations all around us

Oh it don't seem fair we're all on this bus . . .

But around every corner another stret sign

Tellin' me to listen, to wake up my mind.....
