Alfie was involved in the Atomic Bomb project, designing a storage casing for the bomb and with the preliminary space program, designing the rocket sled which was used to test recovery and trajectory. Here in the desert, he and his team were in search of a mesa of specific dimensions to build and test the rocket sled, which eventially was built outside St. George Utah....
